VCU Medical Center, the only academic medical center and comprehensive Level I trauma center for pediatric, adult, and burn patients in the region, has been awarded a prestigious 4-out-of-5-star rating for overall quality by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The CMS star rating, part of the 2024 Hospital Quality Star Ratings, evaluates hospitals on various aspects of patient care, including safety, effectiveness, and patient experience. The 4-star designation reflects VCU Medical Center's consistent performance across these critical metrics, highlighting its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of health care.

The CMS ratings are a valuable resource for patients and their families, offering a clear and comprehensive overview of hospital performance. In addition to VCU Medical Center's rating, VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital received a 4-star rating, and VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital earned 3 stars.
